Joe Kells Chestnut was called home by the Lord on March 11, 2013 in Graham and surrounded by loving family and friends. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in Morrison Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Gary Tull officiating. Burial will follow at Finis Cemetery in Jack County under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home. Honoring their Uncle Bo as pallbearers are nephews: Brent Holland, Jerry Holland, Ronnie Chestnut, Larry Chestnut, Obie Chestnut, Bob Montgomery, Ernie Montgomery, and Brian Wall.
Joe Chestnut was born into a farming and ranching family on July 10, 1932 in Perico, TX. The Chestnut family settled into Southeastern Young County where Joe continued to live and raised his family. Joe was a Christian man who loved the country life. He was happiest when he was surrounded by family and friends. He enjoyed plowing and riding a good, "yellow" horse, and his horse was always the "best horse." Joe's careers included farming, ranching, working in the oil field, and an equipment operator for Young County.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents Lee Anderson and Emma Mildred (Roquemore) Chestnut, sister, Martha Jane Holland, wife, Juanita Fowler Chestnut and two sons, Mitchell Lee and Anderson Kells Chestnut.
Survivors include: daughters, Lola Andrews and husband, Jim of Graham, JoNell Matlock and husband Carl of Markley; 8 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren; sisters, Ora Lee Montgomery of Mineral Wells, Emma Rehberg of Haslet, and Kay Wall and husband Clyde of Roanoke; brother, Oran B. Chestnut and wife, Dorothy of Graham; brother-in-law, John B. Holland of Roanoke; and Joe's companion Marie Smith of Graham and her family.

Family visitation will be held Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
