John Reese Rochelle

John Reese Rochelle, 73, passed away Friday, January 3, 2025 at his home in Graham. Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 7, 2025 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home and a private graveside service will follow at 12 p.m. in Pioneer Cemetery in Graham. 

John was born August 10, 1951 in Lubbock to the late John Lightly and Fannie Lee (Ward) Rochelle. He married Diane Beeman December 1, 1976 in Palo Pinto County. 

John spent his boyhood summers exploring the Brazos River and remained an avid outdoorsman his whole life. His love of music started with cello, but quickly changed to guitar. He often played live shows in Lubbock bars. John graduated from Texas Tech with a Parks Administration degree. After college, John worked in several fields that revolved around his affinity for plant cultivation and the outdoors. He also served as a volunteer fire fighter for the Graham Fire Department. 

Survivors include: wife, Diane Rochelle of Graham; daughter, Caitlin Ann Everett and husband, Alex of Nashville, TN; son, John Curtis Rochelle and wife, Ashley of Little Elm; sisters, Nancy Rochelle Johnson of Lubbock and Lana Beeman Proctor of Arlington. 

The Rochelle family extends special thanks to longtime friend David Gibson, Beyond Faith Hospice, and Dr. Jared Mataska. 

Memorials may be made to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Foundation in lieu of flowers.
