John Rex Steadham

John Rex Steadham, 60, passed away on Sunday, May 8, 2011 in Graham. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. in the First Baptist Church with Pastor Tony Nickel, Gary Tull, and Richard Segars officiating. Burial will follow in Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

Rex was born on Friday, May 13, 1950 in Graham to William Paul and Nora Marie (Owen) Steadham. He married Gaye Lynn Nunley on February 17, 1978 in Graham. Rex graduated from Graham High School in 1969, attended Cisco College, and was a certified EMT. He was employed at K & S Petroleum as the office manager and was a member of the First Baptist Church and First Baptist Church Men's Prayer Breakfast.

Survivors include: wife, Gaye Steadham of Graham; sons, Cole Rex Steadham and wife, LeeAnn of Graham and John Eric Steadham and wife, Jessica of Graham; mother, Marie Steadham of Graham; sisters, Polly Creswell of Graham and Betty Hall of Graham; brother, Max Steadham of Graham; grandson, Scout Emerson; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Men's Prayer Breakfast or the Graham Regional Hospice.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
