Johnnie B. Shafer

Johnnie B. Shafer, 100, passed away Monday September 2, 2024 at her home in Graham. Graveside funeral will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 7, 2024 at Newcastle Cemetery in Newcastle, Texas. 

 Johnnie was born May 2, 1924 in Mertzon, Texas to the late Mary (McFall) Boyles and Edgar Dennis Boyles. She married Marvin O. Shafer May 1, 1947 in San Angelo, Texas. He preceded her in death on October 3, 2019. Johnnie was a longtime resident of Lubbock where she was a secretary for Lubbock ISD. She moved to Graham in 1988 from Lubbock. Johnnie was a member of Heritage Methodist Church in Graham.

Survivors include; daughters, Sharon Sumner and husband Jasper of Graham, Paula Wells of Lubbock; son, Denis Shafer of Liberty Hill; grandchildren, Leslie Wells, Kevin Sumner, Jody Wells and wife Katherine, Michael Sumner and wife Kelly, Lori Hufstedler and husband Joshua; great grandchildren, Hannah, Kate, Emma, Owen, Jacob, Mackenzie, Emily, Kolby, Zayden, Josie, and Ozzie; great great granddaughter, Eleanor.
