Johnny George

Johnny V. George, 53, passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2013 in Wichita Falls. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 19, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in Morrison Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

Johnny was born December 11, 1959 in Wichita Falls to James Franklin and Wanda Yvonne Vanhooser George. He attended West Texas State and Texas Tech University on a track scholarship and was a service man for J & M Oilfield Service in Wichita Falls. Johnny officiated for Texas Association of Sports Officials in High School Football for 20 years.

Survivors include: mother, Wanda George of Wichita Falls; father, Jim George and wife, Ethel of Wichita Falls; sisters, Melodie Menasco and husband, John of Wichita Falls, Sandra George of Wichita Falls, Ronda Hall of Wichita Falls, and Ladona Lewis of Wichita Falls; brother, Mike Lewis and wife, Tammie of Wichita Falls; 2 nephews, a niece, and several cousins. Johnny was also survived by special friends who will be serving as pallbearers, Brad Bowen, Smokey Burgess, Michael K. Oliver, Mike Oliver, Van George, and Monte Yancey.

He was preceded in death by grandparents, Vernon and Ethel George and Johnny and Helen Vanhoosr and nephew, Jason Rivas.
