Joyce Ann Goodman

Joyce Ann Goodman quietly left this world to be with her Lord on Sunday, April 17, 2016 in Arlington.  A Graveside funeral will be held Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. in Cottonwood Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

Joyce was born in Chickasha, OK on April 5, 1932. In 1974 she and her husband J.B. “Cotton” Goodman moved to Bryson, Texas where they had a small ranch and together ran Cotton’s Restaurant and Cotton’s Liquor Store. Joyce and Cotton cherished the friends they made over the years and it was with mixed emotions that Joyce retired in 2008 and moved to Arlington, Texas to be closer to her daughter and son.

Joyce is survived by her daughter, Linda Goodman Soehnge, her son, James M. Goodman, her grandson, Brian Goodman and her sister-in-law, Barbara Brooks.

Joyce was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, James Burt Goodman, her mother, Annie Ruth Brooks, her father Marvin J. Brooks, and her brothers John Brooks and Jeff Brooks. Joyce loved to play cards and dominos with her family and friends, and the sound of her laughter will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be held Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
