Joyce Melton Thompson

Joyce Melton Thompson, 83, died Saturday January 10, 2009 in Graham. A graveside funeral will be held Tuesday, January 13, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in Pioneer Cemetery with Dorman Holub, minister at Eastside Church of Christ officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

Joyce was born July 28, 1925 in Jean, Texas to the late George Thomas and Vivian Olive (Medlin) Melton. She married Hollie H. Thompson December 1, 1949 in Texarkana, Texas. He preceded her in death on January 29, 2000. Joyce was a longtime resident of Graham and a member of Eastside Church of Christ. Joyce worked for the Trendsetter for many years in Graham.

Survivors include; daughters, Karen Shawn Thompson of Graham and Genny Carrico of Olney; six grandchildren, Rick, Joe, and Brian Subasavage, Obie Chestnut, Rebecca and Sarah Carrico; seven great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

Joyce was preceded in death by a daughter, Dale Walker, a sister, Martha Dawn Doster, and a brother, Gale Melton.
