Kelly G. Newman

Kelly G. Newman, 94, passed away November 18, 2009 in Graham. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 20, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. in Morrison Funeral Home Chapel with Dick Stovall of Graham officiating. A graveside service will follow at 4:00 p.m. in Plainview Memorial Park in Plainview, Texas. Arrangements are under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

Kelly was born on August 14, 1915, in McLean, Texas, to the late Moody Milas and Mary Lizzie (Waters) Newman. He married Louise Moser on July 19, 1939, in Oklahoma City and she preceded him in death on October 22, 1979. Kelly was a 1938 graduate of Abilene Christian University (College). He was a veteran of the United States Army and was a retired Aircraft Salesman and Pilot in Plainview. Kelly married Iona Lafferty on August 4, 1980 in Breckenridge. He moved to Graham in 1984 from Plainview and was a member of the Eastside Church of Christ.

Survivors include: wife, Iona C. Newman of Graham; son, Kelly C. Newman of Hurst; daughter, Nita Newman of Valley Mills; grandchildren, Kim Franklin, Mack Newman, and Kelly Short; great grandchildren, Jordan and Taylor Franklin, Olivia and Kathryn Newman, and Madison Short.

He was preceded in death by seven sister and four brothers.
