Laurel Kay Shepard, 75, passed away Saturday, June 30, 2018 at her home in Loving. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 7, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. in Morrison Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Loving Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.



Kay was born October 4, 1942 in Jacksboro to the late Grady Lawrence and Florence Vestal (Rasco) Martin. She married Mark Anthony Shepard January 22, 1988 in Graham. Kay was a member of Loving Volunteer Fire Department, Graham Noon Lions Club and Loving Baptist Church. Kay really enjoyed being out on the ranch helping with the cattle and hay hauling . She loved to travel and had a special fondness for the mountains of Northern New Mexico . The last several years she had spent quite a bit of time riding on a motorcycle with Mark up in the cool country of Colorado and New Mexico . But she loved her family more than any of this and looked forward to Christmas time and being in charge of the family CHRISTMAS.



Survivors include: husband, Mark Shepard of Loving; daughter, Kelly Smith and husband, Jason of Loving; sons, Frankie Bailey of Loving and Brandon Bailey and fiancé, Tamitha of Loving; brothers, Doug Martin and wife, Alice of Bryson and Lynn Martin of Abilene; grandchildren, Taylor Bailey, Brant and Brennan Bailey, Jordan and Bradley Carver, Kylie Bailey, Sadie Bailey, Cameron and Elizabeth Bailey, Corbin Bailey, Mackenzie Bailey, Reagan Romines, and Scout Smith; great grandchildren, Liam Bailey, Oliver and Maren Bailey and Jacky and Bailey Carver.



She was preceded in death by son, Eric Martin Bailey and brother, Larry Dale Martin.


Visitation will held Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
