Leonard Lafayette Carter

Leonard "Billy" Lafayette Carter, 93, passed away Thursday, April 3, 2014 in Jacksboro. Graveside services will be held Monday, April 7, 2014 at 12:00 p.m. in Oak Grove Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

Leonard was born April 27, 1920 in Graham to the late John Steadman and Ammie Edith (Bullard) Carter. He married Esther Marie Park in June 1943. She preceded him in death October 2, 2002. He married Thelma Eis August 11, 1967. She preceded him in death November 19, 2013. Leonard was a 29 year veteran of the United States Air Force and moved to Jacksboro from Abilene.

Survivors include: daughter, Billie Jo Godfrey and husband, Richard of Jacksboro; five grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and a great great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Carol Lea Kane.
