Lillie Bell Carter

Lillie Bell Carter, age 100, passed away in Graham on Friday, October 7, 2022. A visitation will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2022 in Morrison Funeral Home Chapel from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at which time a funeral procession will go to Pioneer Cemetery for a graveside service and burial under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

 Lillie Bell was born on April 3, 1922 in Graham, Texas to the late William and Lillie Bell (maiden name) Moore. She came into this world in a dramatic way, as her mother passed away from complications of giving birth to her. Although she had a rough start, she never let that slow her down, as she beat cancer three times and lived to see 100 years. She completed high school in Graham and later married Leroy Lovel Carter on July 25, 1946, he preceded her in death on December 18, 1985. Together they had a son, Wesley. Lillie Bell worked as a beautician and owned and managed rent houses in Graham for many years. She also got the opportunity to help build P-51 fighter planes in Dallas during World War II.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Graham.

 Lillie Bell is survived by her son, Wesley Carter of Graham; grandchildren, Timothy Carter, Eunice Carter, and Stephen Carter; step grandchildren, Aaron Moore, Rebekah Moore, and Joseph Moore; along with numerous step great grandchildren.

 She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a grandson, Titus Carter.
