Lois Choate Fancher

Lois Choate Fancher, 91, of Graham passed away Friday, December 5, 2008 in Graham. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 8, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. in Morrison Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend J. B. McCracken pastor of Salem Crestview United Methodist Church and Reverend Jim Senkel of Graham officiating. Burial will follow at Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

Lois was born April 1, 1917 at Murray, Texas to the late O.W. Hill, Sr. and Minnie Bell Myrick Hill. She married John Herman Choate on August 21, 1939. He preceded her in death on May 1, 1985. On July 11, 1987 Lois married Cleo G. Fancher. He preceded her in death on October 15, 1994. She resided in Young County all of her life having lived in South Bend, Murray, Tonk Valley and Graham. Lois was employed by the Graham Independent School for 10 years having worked in the cafeteria. She also worked with her husband, Herman, in the John Deere Implement business and his oil endeavors. Lois was a member of Salem United Methodist Church where she served as pianist and organist for 25 + years. She also served as pianist for the Tonk Valley Methodist and Baptist churches for 15 years. In her later years she attended the Second and Grove Church of Christ.

Survivors: daughter, Shirley Scott Stice and husband Lawrence of Abilene; sons, James W. Choate and wife Norma Jean of Granbury, Larry S. Choate and wife Norma of Graham, Donny R. Choate and wife Shirley of Graham, Billy D. Choate and wife Marie of Graham; 12 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren; sister, Imogene Brown; brother, O.W. Hill, Jr. both of Graham. A host of nieces, nephews and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Marvin Hill and J.W. "Dub" Hill, two grandchildren, a daughter-in-law, a son-in-law and a great grandchild.

Visitation will be Sunday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home.
