Louise Brooks

Louise Brooks, 87, died Thursday, September 16, 2010 in Azle, Texas. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 18, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. in the Morrison Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

Louise was born August 2, 1923 in Lynn County near Tahoka, Texas to the late John Washington and Clara May (Knight) Barrett. She married Houston B. Brooks, December 22, 1940 in Graham. He preceded her in death on February 13, 1985. Louise was a longtime resident of Graham before moving to Azle in 1988. She was a homemaker and a Baptist.

Survivors include; two daughters, Linda Crownover of Fredericksburg, Joy McKinzie of Fort Worth; four sons, Dan Brooks of Aledo, Denton Brooks and wife Judy of Lake Worth, Dean Brooks and wife Linda of Grand Prairie, and Kenny Brooks and wife Lucretia of Azle; twenty seven grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.

Louise was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Janette Brooks and five brothers, Johnny, J.B., Foster, Horace, and C.O. (Slim) Barrett.
