Loyd Dean Orr

Loyd Dean Orr, 86, passed away on Sunday, February 14, 2010 in Graham. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in Morrison Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Andy Tyler, pastor of Jean United Methodist Church and Mark Brockett of Knox City, nephew to Loyd Dean, officiating. Burial will follow in Jean Cemetery in Young County under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

Loyd Dean was born on September 16, 1923 in Graham to the late Horace M. and Emma May (Morris) Orr. He married Mary Faye Cariker on June 9, 1956 in the Jean United Methodist Church. Loyd Dean spent most of his life in Young County farming and working in the oilfield. He was an employee of Young County Precinct 4 having retired after 29 years. Loyd Dean was a member of the Graham Antique Tractor Club and Jean United Methodist Church.

Survivors include: wife, Mary Faye Orr of Graham; brothers, W.C. Orr of O'Brian and Waldo Orr of Brazil; sister, Virginia Carter of Midland; numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Ovelle Moreland and two brothers, Donald and Harold Orr.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
