Jim Stanley Hamlett Jr. passed away July 28, 2013. Services will be held Thursday August 1st at 2 pm at First United Methodist Church of Graham Texas.
Born June 30, 1934 in Fort Worth Texas to Jim and Mildred Hamlett, he was raised in Fort Worth where he attended Carter Riverside High School followed by Texas A&M College and Texas Christian University. He served in the 28th Infantry and 49th Armored Divisions of the United States Army.
Jim retired as Regional Vice President of Operations after 34 years with the ARAMARK Corporation. He is best remembered by his peers and associates as a leader, mentor and friend.
Jim married Elsie Colleen Moss in 1958 and they enjoyed 54 years together. Jim was devoted to Colleen, their sons, daughters-in-law and grandchildren. He and Colleen traveled the state to support them at countless football games, halftime shows, dance recitals and livestock shows.
Always known for his generosity, Jim played a hand in feeding, sheltering and counseling the numerous family members, stray friends and pets his wife and sons brought through his house.
Jim's faith was an integral part of his life with Colleen. They both served as lay ministers in Stephen Ministry at First United Methodist Church of Graham.
In his retirement, Jim proudly served his community for eleven years as a member of the Possum Kingdom West Volunteer Fire Department.
Survivors: son Trey, wife Pamela of Lockhart TX, and grandson Will of Port Aransas TX; son Craig, wife Lisa and grandchildren, Mason, Jenna, Lane and Reilly of Waller TX; son Glenn Hamlett, Joline Jackson and her son Cameron of Fort Worth TX; along with many much loved in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
