Margaret M. Price, 93, passed away Friday, April 19, 2013 in Austin after suffering for the last few years from the effects of Alzheimer's disease. Visiting hours will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, April 25, 2013 at Morrison Funeral Home in Graham followed by a graveside service at 2:00 p.m. in Murray Cemetery in Murray Texas.
Margaret was born on September 5, 1919 in Fairmont, West Virginia to Millie Zorin and Angelina Zorin. Millie and Angelina emigrated to American from Yugoslavia in 1916 and where her father, to assimilate himself in America later changed his name to Charles Miller. She was raised on her parents' farm in Taylor County West Virginia and was the youngest of 2 brothers and 4 sisters.
She graduated from Grafton High School and later moved to Washington D.C. to work as a government employee for the war effort where she met her future husband Theodore Austin Price. They married after Austin returned from the South Pacific Theater in WWII in 1946. They moved to Murray Texas, Austin's birthplace, in 1958. Margaret worked in Murray as the postmaster and operated the general store there until they moved to Graham in 1964. She and her husband lived in Georgetown and Austin Texas until her death.
Margaret loved Texas but missed the Appalachian mountains of her childhood and spent most of her life planting trees and working in the garden wherever she lived. She never met anyone whom she didn't consider her friend. She will be missed.
She is survived by her sons; Thomas Price and Theodore Price of Austin , grandchildren; Adam Price, Grant Price, Jason Price , Natalie Shimek Harden and Dustin Shimek; great grandchildren; Annika Price, Luke Harden, McKinsey Harden, Asher Shimek and Beckham Shimek.
