MARILYN GRAEME STEWART SHANNON passed away at her home on Monday, July 26, 2010. The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 29, 2010 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held Friday, July 30, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

A 5th generation Texan, she was born January 7, 1951 in Austin, Texas to Malcolm McNair Stewart and Doris Ramsey Stewart. Graeme graduated from Graham High School in 1969. She was active on the tennis team, Thespians and Y-Teens. Graeme received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Child development from Texas Tech University, Lubbock, Texas. After graduation, she moved with her husband, Trey Shannon, to Fort Worth. She was a sustaining member of the Fort Worth Jr. League and a past member of Fort Worth Women's Club. Graeme also volunteered at the Montessori Children's House and Como Montessori. She enjoyed her travels in Europe, Mexico and the USA. She was devoted to her children, family, and friends.

Graeme was preceded in death by her brother, Malcolm M. Stewart, Jr., her son, Scott Shannon and her father, Malcolm M. Stewart.

Graeme is survived by her daughters, Stefanie Nielson and husband, Kent, of Dallas and Carolyn Shannon of Fort Worth. She was affectionately known as "Gram" to her grandson, Malcolm James Nielson. Her mother, Mrs. Doris Stewart of Graham; her sisters, Carol Waldrop and husband, Phil, of Houston and Anne Youngblood and husband, Nathan, of Santa Fe, NM; niece, Emily Waldrop of San Marcus, TX; nephews, Philip Waldrop of Roswell, NM, Justin Waldrop of Austin, TX and Stewart Youngblood of Stanford, CA.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Stark-Vance for her guidance during Graeme's illness. Special thanks are extended to Freida Cedillo and Lupe Perez for their care and compassion.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Lymphoma and Leukemia Society or the Graham Humane Society.
