Marilyn Stark

Our beloved mother, Marilyn Mae Stemmons Stark, 87, was surrounded by family when she was reunited with God on November 12, 2022. Marilyn was born on April 5, 1935 to the late Omer James Stemmons and Pearl Busby Stemmons. She was the fourth of their five children. She was raised in rural Jasper County Missouri and spent much of her childhood at the Stemmons family farm, which was an important touchstone that endured well into her adulthood. In high school, she moved to Springfield, Missouri. After she graduated high school, Marilyn attended Southwest Missouri State University. Marilyn met Bill Stark in the summer of 1956 and they were married on Christmas Day, 1956. They had two daughters, Maril and Kathryn, in 1958 and 1959. The family continued to reside in Springfield, Missouri until they relocated to North Texas in 1974. After retiring, Bill and Marilyn moved to Graham, Texas in 2003 and were members of the First Baptist Church.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Stark; her parents; sister Alice Fraser; brothers Wayne, Verne, and Kenneth Stemmons, and brothers-in-law Al Fraser and James Felin. She is survived by daughters Maril (Rick) Adams and Kathryn (Dan) Clark; grandchildren Davey Perez, Brandon (Lindsay) Perez, Kathryn Wenninger, and Kristin (Jason) McKittrick; great-grandchildren David, Dawson, Davis, Emma-Kate, Grace, Eleanor, Cadon, Addison, and Cooper; sisters-in-law Mary, Gail, and Florence Stemmons, Cecile Felin Henrikson and husband Bob, and Diane Stark; cousin Teresa (Kirk) Campbell; nieces Vicky (David) Stever, Teri (Guy) Arras, Melanie Schoen, Janice Fraser Siddall, Casey (Mike) Rodick, Beatrice (Chris) Knox; and nephews Mike (Phyllis), Mark (Nancy), and Tim (Ginger) Stemmons, Bruce Fraser, Jamie (Sarah) Felin, James Stark, and Jeff Stark.

The family would like to thank the following people for their steadfast caregiving, service, and love, especially the past three years: Dr. Steven Jones; the staff at Elison Assisted Living and Memory Care of Graham, Texas (including Trachelle Lewelling, Debbie Long, Joy Mullanax, and Tina Hand); Beyond Faith Hospice (Tricia Crossland, Chandra (Lil Bit) Weber, Vanessa Salazar, Vanessa Welsh, and Jerry Blake); Joyce Waskom; Visiting Angels in Wichita Falls, Texas; and Healing Hands in Wichita Falls, Texas.
