Marjorie Baker,88, passed away Monday, September 22, 2014 in Graham. Graveside service will be held Saturday, September 27, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. in Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.
Marjorie was born June 19, 1926 in Murray to the late Walter Truman and Sadie Rhea (Tomlinson) Mayes. She married Lewis Baker July 12, 1974 in Portland and he preceded her in death May 25, 2000. Marjorie graduated from Graham High School as valedictorian. After 2 years of business college she worked for an oil company and was hired away from them by a public accountant. After 20 years of employment she took the enrolled agents test in 1972. She worked until 2011 as an Accountant and Tax Practitioner. She was a member of Holy Spirit Episcopal Church having served as Secretary Treasurer for 11 years. Marjorie was a charter member of the Desk & Derrick Club, a charter member of Enrolled Agents Association of Texas, and was a past treasurer of the VFW Auxiliary.
Survivors include: daughter, Pattie Key and husband, Charlie Key of Murray; sister, Ninette Golden of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Dr. Elicia Hogan and husband, Joey of Franklin, Dr. Truman Sloan of Denver, CO, Jimmy Key and wife, Stacy of Graham, and Kim Sears and husband, John of Graham; great grandchildren, Jeb and Baylee Hogan, Kortney Kimberlin, Eric Key and Danny Key; beloved pets, Sissy and Skeeter.
Memorials may be made to the Holy Spirit Episcopal Church or the Young County Humane Society.
