Mark Jones IV

Mark Jones IV of Austin, Texas, passed away on Saturday, January 19, 2019.  He lived his life as a free spirit and historian – as student of philosophy and academics. He was a curious intellect with a wicked sense of humor. He loved music and art, history and books. And he made these interests the bedrock of his life.

Mark was born February 14, 1972, to Kay and Mark Jones. He came into the world laughing and taught everyone around him what it means to find joy and humor in everything, no matter how mundane. His laugh was infectious and contagious and will always be the defining characteristic of his life. That’s how he would like to be remembered: laughter, not tears.

He will be deeply missed by his family. He is survived by his beloved father Mark Jones III, his mother Kay Sandidge, his stepfather Jon Sandidge and an extended family scattered across the country that loved him deeply.

Godspeed to our son, our nephew, our cousin and our friend, Mark Edward Jones IV. We could not love you any more than we do.

Friends and family are invited to attend visitation on Sunday, January 27, 2019 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, and a Funeral Service on Monday, January 28, 2019 at 1:00 PM, all at Cook-Walden Funeral Home.  Mark will be laid to rest at 10:00 am on Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at Pioneer Cemetery in Graham, Texas.
