Marvin "Junior" Bruce, Jr., 86, passed away on Saturday, November 12, 2011 in Graham. Funeral services will be Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in Morrison Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.
Marvin was born on March 25, 1925 in Graham to the late Thomas Marvin, Sr. and Ivy Myrtle (Box) Bruce. He married Mildred Ruth Stoneman on May 20, 1949 in Bryson. Marvin was a veteran of the United States Army serving in World War II in the Battle of Bulge where he received the Purple Heart. He was the former owner of Young County Butane and an Independent oil producer and owner of Bruce Operating Co. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include: wife, Millie Bruce of Graham; sons, Reggie Bruce and wife Pam of Graham, Curtis Bruce of Graham, and Randy Bruce and wife Sydonia of Edmond, OK.; daughter, Susan Bruce Rux and husband Ricky of Graham; nine grandchildren, Corey Bruce, Estacia Bruce, Lynn Forbus, Justin Bruce, Taylor Bruce, Garrett Bruce, Samantha Bruce, Brandy Overcash, and Sonny Miller; thirteen great grandchildren; brothers, Austin Bruce and wife Ritta of Frisco and Gene Bruce and wife Coleta of Graham; sister, Mary Jo Swetnam of Mansfield.
Marvin was preceded in death by a daughter, Marva June Bruce, grandson, Timothy Bruce, sister, Juanice McFall, and a daughter-in-law, Margie Bruce.
Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society or Solaris Hospice.
