Mary was a longtime resident of Young County and a member of the Assembly of God Church. She was a hard worker, tending to her own cattle until the age of 80, and often remarked that even the little birds have to scratch around to find something to eat.
Her creative mind made her a great storyteller, and for years she enchanted her grandchildren with tales of riding flying horses to visit her sister in California. She was skilled in handcrafts like crochet and cross-stitch and, after seeing something she admired in a store display, would usually say, "Well, we ought to be able to make something like that."
She was a woman of faith with a heart for service to others.
Survivors include; son, Douglas Cearley and wife Linda Cearley of Gore, Oklahoma; two grandchildren and their spouses, Sunny Cearley and husband Derick Deweber of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Spencer Cearley and wife Casie McKamie Cearley of Houston, Texas. At the time of her passing she had 24 living nieces and nephews.
