Mary Ellen Booth Meschkat, 94, passed away, July 11, 2022, in Graham, Texas. Funeral will be Saturday, July 16, 2022 at 1 pm in Morrison Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be from noon to 1 pm on Saturday. Burial will follow in Loving Cemetery, beside the grave of her late husband, Edwin Paul Meschkat. He and Mary were married over 70 years.
Mary and Edwin married July 18, 1947, in Manvel, Texas. She was born January 5, 1928, in Manvel to the late John Albert and Sally May Flora Booth. Mary's father was a rancher/farmer, as were all of her five older siblings and their spouses.
Mary married Edwin, knowing he was committed to a life of Christian service, as a lay minister, as well as a business man. She supported her husband faithfully, throughout their years of marriage, including ongoing hospitality, caring for others who were suffering, visiting, as well as a loving wife and mother to her three children.
Throughout Mary's life, she and Edwin lived and worked together in Houston, Lake Shore, Mississippi, Florence, South Carolina, Lubbock, and Graham. She was known to many, nation and worldwide, as "Mom." Or "Aunt Mary." Her love, hospitality, was admired, appreciated, by all who knew her.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Charles Herman Booth, Donald Albert Booth, Glen Booth; sisters, Opal Booth Furnace, Ruby Booth Jordan her son, Warren Glen Meschkat, and husband, Edwin Paul Meschkat. She was looking forward to spiritual reunion with all of these, and many more loved ones, with her Lord, Savior, Jesus Christ, in eternity.
Survivors include her son, Larry Paul Meschkat, his wife, Belinda Kay Meschkat, of Olney, Texas; daughter, Beverly Meschkat Ball; grandchildren, Michelle Ball Vallandingham, her husband, Mike Vallandingham; Kathryn Meschkat Pieget, her husband, Justin Pieget; Rachel Ball McCullough, her husband, Patrick McCullough; David James Meschkat, his wife, Claire Hazelbaker Meschkat; nephews Albert Lee Furnace, Marvin Don Booth, Leonard Booth; nieces, Carol Furnace Judge, Betty Booth, Claudine Jordan, Gynelle Jordan, Laura Booth Johnson; great grandchildren, Isabel Grace Pieget, Piper Meschkat, Aurelia Meschkat, Ethan Pieget, and Fenya Meschkat.
