Matthew Sloan Dawson, 21, of Graham passed away Sunday, February 15, 2009 in Graham as the result of an auto accident. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 pm Thursday, February 19, 2009 at the First Baptist Church with Reverend Gary Tull of Graham officiating. Burial will follow at Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.
Matt was born July 21, 1987 in Graham to John Randal and Lena Marie Dawson.
He graduated from Graham High School in 2005. Matt was an employee of Southern Bleacher Company.
Survivors: parents; John Randal and Lena Dawson of Graham, brother; Randall Yates Dawson and wife Meagan of Graham, paternal grandmother; Frances Geneva Dawson of Chico, niece; Tara Dawson of Graham. Numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins also survive. Matt's paternal grandfather, Alvin H. Dawson preceded him in death.
The family will be at the funeral home Wednesday 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. to receive friends.
A pot luck dinner will be served at The Young County Arena at 5:30 p.m. Thursday. For information call Donivia Littlefield at 505-793-4431.
