Maudie Clay Gann

Maudie Clay Gann, age 94, passed away in Decatur on Tuesday, August 6, 2024. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 9, 2024 in Morrison Funeral Home Chapel, visitation will precede the service, starting at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow in Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

Maudie was born on December 17, 1929 in Stephens County, Texas to Richard and Velma (Carroll) Creager. She married Henry Floyd Clay on October 20, 1951 in Graham and he preceded her in death on September 30, 1962. She later married Vernon Henry Gann on March 18, 1977 and he preceded her in death on June 23, 2005.

Maudie is survived by her daughters, Donna Robertson of Hewitt, and Kathy Swink and husband Jerry of Decatur; step daughters, Lynelle Casteel of Graham, and Teresa Newton of Oxford, AL; grandkids, Jason Delony and wife Tasha, Jacob Delony and wife Jackie, James Delony and wife Kristy, Eli Swink and wife Melissa, and Clay Swink and wife Dusty; great grandkids, Mackenzi, Mason, Hannah, Hunter, Hayden, Brylee, Braxton, Newt, Kinley, and Cullen; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Velma Creager; husbands, Henry Clay, and Vernon Gann; great grandson, Kash Delony; son in law, George Gary Robertson; sisters, Lois Richards, and Dixie Ward; brothers in law, Marvin Richards, and Lawrence Ward.
