Melton Eugene West

Melton Eugene "Red" West, 83, passed away Sunday, March 9, 2014 in Candler, North Carolina. Graveside services will be held Friday, March 14, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in in Oak Grove Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

Mr. West was a native of Jean, Texas. He was a son of the late Chesley William and Willie Mae Wadsworth West and was also preceded in death by 3 brothers.

Surviving are his 5 children, Jean Ridley of Nashville, TN, Stephanie Whittemore and husband, Cecil Link of Candler, Brenda Beresford of California, E.J. West of Georgia and Roger West of Leicester and 4 sisters, Ruby Forester, Ruth Roberts, Polly Holman and husband, Larry and Barbara Sharpe all of Graham.

Family visitation will be held Thursday 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
