Melva Gruben Jones

Melva Gruben Jones, 87, passed away Sunday, July 8, 2012 in Graham. A Graveside funeral will be held Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in Pioneer Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

Melva was born, January 9, 1925 in Rotan, Texas to the late Alvin Gruben and Vera Ogden Gruben. She married Edgar Jones, December 3, 1944 in Rotan, Texas. He preceded her in death on March 12, 2011. Melva was a devoted minister's wife for over 60 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church Graham.

Survivors include; daughter, Sharon Scariano and husband Dick of Grand Junction, CO.; son, Don Jones and wife Ava of Graham; nine grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren; brothers, Bobby Gruben and Wilbur Gruben both of Rotan; sisters, Georgie Upshaw of Snyder, Laverne Upshaw of Ransom Canyon, and Vera Ellen McCombs of Rotan; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Melva was preceded in death by a son, Terry Jones, granddaughter, Christi Thornton, brothers, Charles Gruben and Glen Gruben.
