Melvin Lee Dixon, 85, died on Thursday, June 17, 2010 at his home in Graham. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 19, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in Oak Grove Cemetery followed by a memorial service at 10:30 a.m. in Morrison Funeral Home Chapel. Arrangements are under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.
Melvin was born on July 4, 1924 in Young County to the late Joe Anthony and Anna Etta (Schlittler) Dixon. He married Susan Schimelpfenig on July 5, 1952 in Plano. Melvin was a veteran of the United States Army serving in World War II. He retired from Argosy Energy as a Field Superintendent and Consultant and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Graham.
Survivors include: wife, Susan Dixon of Graham; daughter, Ann Boydston and husband, Steve of Graham; son, Don Dixon and wife, Jackie of Roanoke, Texas; sister, Janette Fagan of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Matthew Boydston, Leah Boydston, Jade Dixon, Jennifer Dixon, and Nolan Dixon; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by three sisters.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
