Milton Mooney

Milton Mooney, 84, passed away at his home Wednesday, July 27, 2011. A Memorial service will be held Saturday, July 30, 2011 at 9:00 a.m. in the Morrison Funeral Home Chapel with Dan Hooper of Olney officiating. Burial was in Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

Milton was born February 20, 1927 in Houston, Texas to the late Marshall and Mattie John (Thompson) Mooney. He was a Veteran of the United states Navy serving in the Seabees during World War II. Milton married Faye Foley, March 15, 1947 in Houston. He served in the Houston Fire Department for 14 years. He retired as a Senior Captain and he and Faye moved on to the motel business, which brought them to Graham in 1971. Together they ran the Gateway Inn for 7 years. Milton and Faye continued their life in Graham surrounded by their family, moving from one adventure to the next.

Survivors include; wife, Faye Mooney of Graham; daughter, Linda Mooney of Graham; son, Roger Mooney and wife Cindy of Graham; two grandchildren, Matthew and Alyssa Mooney of Dallas, Megan and Glenn Beardsley of Las Vegas, NV.
