Nancy Lee Carmack Sims of Lake Graham, loving mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, and cousin, and friend to all, passed away peacefully June 23, 2012 with her two sons and daughter-in-law by her side. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. in Murray Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.
Nancy was the daughter of Throckmorton County pioneer parents, the late Lee and Hattie Carmack. She was born January 26, 1928 in Graham, Texas and lived in the country in Throckmorton County where she grew up on a farm. She graduated from Woodson High School in 1944 and attended Tarleton State College. She married her Woodson High School sweetheart Donald E. Sims in Stamford, Texas in August 1947 and together they lived in Stamford, Merkel, Bronte, Rule, Fort Stockton, and New Orleans while Dad was in the oilfield business. Mom worked for Wichita Falls Engineering, West Texas Utilities, and the Veterans Administration including full time job as an excellent, spouse, mother, and homemaker. She had a sharp wit and was always entertaining to guests.
She was preceded in death by her parents Lee and Hattie Carmack, husband Donald E. Sims, and daughter Nancy Kay Sims Redman Cowell.

Those left to survive Nancy are sons Scott Sims and friend, Carol Green of Arlington, Kerry Sims and wife Sharon of Graham, sister Betty C. Reid of Benbrook, six grandchildren, four great grandchildren and an extended family of cousins, nieces, and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
