Neal Sweeney

Allen Neal Sweeney, 75, passed away peacefully at his home in Weatherford Sunday, December 24, 2023 with his family by his side.  Funeral service will be held Thursday, December 28, 2023 at 10 a.m. in the First Baptist Church.  Burial will follow in Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

Neal was born June 28, 1948 in Graham to the late James and Geneva (Varner) Sweeney.  He graduated from Graham High School and married Diane Ethridge August 5, 1967 in Graham.  Neal was an expert machinist and could literally fix anything. He loved fishing and spending time with his family.  Neal could still recite Macbeth and Robert frost poems and jingles and song and jokes so so many jokes.

Survivors include: wife, Diane Sweeney of Weatherford; daughter, Lacy Bond of Graham; sons, Kyle Sweeney and wife, Brandi of Brock and Monty Bond of Graham; grandchildren, Karah Bond of Graham, Jackson Sweeney and Addison Sweeney of Brock and Rowdy Bond of Graham; siblings, Herb and Joyce Sweeney of Graham, Kathy and Ken Alexander of Arlington, Dale and Ann Sweeney of Wichita Falls and Gail and Wesley Lasater of Graham.

He was preceded in death by a son, Brian Neal Sweeney, sisters, Jewel Abbott and Claudia Stapp and brothers, Jim Sweeney and David Holman.
