Oliver W. Hill, Jr

Oliver W. Hill, Jr., 86, died Monday, August 17, 2009 in Fort Worth. Funeral services will be Thursday, August 20, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. in Morrison Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend James C. Hill, pastor of First Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

Oliver was born April 24, 1923 in Murray, Texas to the late Oliver Whitman and Minnie Belle (Myrick) Hill, Sr. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He married Lorene Smith, December 3, 1940 in Chickasha, Oklahoma. Mr. Hill was a former electrician with Heath Electric and had also worked for Hexcel Corporation.

Survivors include; wife, Lorene Hill of Graham; daughter, Minnie Wilkes of Graham; sister, Imogene Brown of Graham; four grandchildren, Michael and Amy Wilkes both of Graham, Laura Clayton of Olney, and Linda Williams of Mesquite; 12 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by daughter, Beatrice Kay Hill, brothers, Marvin and John Hill, and sister, Lois Choate Fancher.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
