Patricia Jane Cernosek

Patricia Jane (Critchfield) Cernosek, 83, passed away Monday, August 4, 2014 in Graham. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Pattie was born in Effingham, Kansas, Atchison County the first born daughter of Rollie Vincent and Edna May (Jones) Critchfield. Pattie grew up in the small community of Baldwin City, Kansas. She graduated from Baldwin High School in 1948 where she had been the school's cheerleader for four years and its football Homecoming Queen her senior year. Pattie attended Baker University in Baldwin City pledging Delta Delta Delta for a short time before attending and graduating from Clark Business School in Topeka, Kansas. While living in Topeka she met the love of her life Wesley Joe Cernosek and they were united in marriage on May 29, 1952. After Joe was discharged from the US Air Force they left Topeka, Kansas to return to his hometown of Graham, Texas to help in the family grocery store, eventually purchasing it. They shared 28 wonderful, fun filled years together till his death of pancreatic cancer on February 24, 1980. Pattie was employed for many years by the Schlumberger Oil Company till her retirement in 1986. She also enjoyed her association with the Confederate Air Force organization and its many projects.

She is survived by sister, Carolyn Breithaupt and husband, Dr. J.C.; nephew, John Spencer Breithaupt and wife, Joann; great niece, Lauren Elizabeth Breithaupt, great nephew, John Carter Breithaupt, sister-in-law, Marcella Ford and many Cernosek and Ford nieces and nephews.

Pattie will remain in our hearts and thoughts of her family and friends forever...
