Pete Shabay

Pete Shabay, 85, passed away Saturday, October 3, 2009 in Fort Worth. A Rosary will be held Monday, October 5, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. in Morrison Funeral Home Chapel. Requiem Mass will be Tuesday, October 6, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Raymund Mullen officiating. Burial will follow in Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

Pete was born November 17, 1923 in Wise County, Texas to the late Pete Shabay, Sr. and Nazera Boaz Shabay. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy, Sixth Marine Division, Reinforced, serving during World War II. Pete married Mary Mayes, October 15, 1952 in Graham. She preceded him in death on May 20, 2009. Pete was co-owner of Boaz Dept. Store in Graham. He was a member of Rotary Club, VFW Post #8567, and St. Mary's Catholic Church.

Survivors include; son, Petie Shabay and wife Joanie of Weatherford; several nieces and nephews.
