Phil Fortune

Phil Fortune, 83, passed away Thursday, August 10, 2023 at his home in Graham.  Funeral services will be held Friday, August 18, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. in Oak Street Baptist Church.  Family burial will follow Saturday at Goodnight Cemetery in Goodnight under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

Phil was born May 3, 1940 in Lubbock to the late Clyde Henry and Ruth Alumbaugh Fortune.  He married Betty Callaway December 3, 1983 in Snyder.  He retired from Texas Electric after 31 years and was a member of Oak Street Baptist Church.  Phil loved reading his Bible and was a preacher and teacher of the Holy Spirit. He enjoyed playing golf and spending time with family and friends. 

Survivors include: spouse, Betty Fortune of Graham; daughters, Tracy Hopper & Chad Pinkerton, Carrie Roark & spouse Bradley and Cynthia Krause & spouse Greg; son, Gregg Callaway & spouse, Debbie; daughter-in-law, Billie Jo Callaway; son-in-law, Brent Simpson; sister, Betty Baker; 13 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by daughter, Laura Simpson, son, Stanley Callaway, and sister Jackie Kinson.

Visitation will be held Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Agape Ministry or Oak Street Baptist.
