Polly Donnell, of Graham, passed away Tuesday, September 18, 2012, at the age of 99 in Graham. Graveside services will be Friday, September 21, 2012 at 9:30 a.m. in Donnell Cemetery and memorial services will follow at 11.00 a.m. in the First Presbyterian Church in Graham. Arrangements are under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

Born Florence Greer Ray on April 4, 1913 in Cameron, Texas to Averitt and Nettie Dorroh Ray, she was nicknamed Polly by her father. She attended Baylor Female College for Women in Belton, Texas as well as Temple Junior College, and later received a teaching certificate from San Antonio Junior College.

Polly and Alfred Donnell were married in Breckenridge on June 8, 1933. They lived on the Donnell Ranch near Eliasville, raising Hereford cattle for many years. In 1960 they moved to Graham.

Following Alfred's death in 1966, Polly began nursing school in 1968 at the age of 55. She retired from private duty nursing in 1980 and enjoyed many years traveling. She was a long time member of First Presbyterian Church, and in 2008 was presented an Honorary Life Membership in Presbyterian Women. She was also a long time member of the Spinner Domino Group.

Mrs. Donnell is survived by her son, George Donnell and wife Helen Sue of Graford and daughter, Peggy Brown and husband Rob of Throckmorton. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Kristi Donnell, Karla Gillan, Betsy Bellah, Rob A. Brown, Marianne McCartney,and Donnell Brown. In addition she is survived by 18 great grandchildren, Charlie Gillan, Matt and Brad Bellah, Laurie Strebeck, Amy Buschman, R A Brown II, Griffin, Myles, Lydia, Amanda and Ike Brown, Emily, Will, Ben, Caroline, and Claire McCartney, Tucker and Lanham Brown, and great- great grandchild, Trevor Bellah.

Mrs. Donnell was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, brothers and sisters.

The family is grateful for the loving care Chandra Headrick and Linda Bryant blessed Polly with, as well as all the other dear friends who have cared for her.
