Raymond Lee “Stew” Stewart, 84, passed away at his home in Graford, Saturday August 26, 2023. A Celebration of life will be held 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday December 27, 2023 at Adagios’s Pizza Factory, 2025 Silver Lake Rd., Mounds View, MN. 55112. Arrangements are with Morrison Funeral Home.
Stew was born October 19, 1938 in Minneapolis, MN. To Margaret Evelyn (McCollough) Stewart and Leland John Stewart. Stew served in the United States Navy for 4 years. He married Lora Lee Pegors, November 25, 1975 in Fredley, MN. After a long career in the flooring industry starting as a carpet layer and working his way up to management, he retired. To keep from being bored after retirement he delivered automobiles from dealership to dealership for Friendly Chevrolet. Stew and Lora moved to Graford, Texas in October 2019 to be near family. Stew was a member of Country Road Fellowship Church. He loved fishing with his brother-in-law Gary Longerbone and his son Eric. Stew enjoyed NASCAR races with Terry Anderson, Gary Longerbone, John Wesen and Karter Anderson. Stew and Lora loved their vacations in Puerto Vallarta for 29 years where they made and kept lifelong friends. He enjoyed summers at his lake place in Millie Lacs Island Resort in Isanti, MN where he would sit on the deck and yell at the golf carts to slow down. Stew enjoyed Sundays after church at the Shortstop in Fridley and every Wednesday at Adagios with friends.
Survivors include; wife, Lora Stewart of Graford; daughter, Ronda Althen and husband Derek of Tujunga, CA. and their children Garrett and Alexa; sons, Steven Stewart and wife Sally of CA. and their son Ryan, Eric Stewart and wife Jennifer of Princton, MN. and their daughter Stevie Lee; brother, Gary Stewart of Elk River, MN.; sisters-in-law, Mary Wood, Joy Marsh and husband Barry, Linda Long, and Charlette Lage.
Stew was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Don and Ron Stewart; brothers-in-law, David Pegors, Gary Longerbone, Philip Wood, and Ron Lage.

Special Thanks to Stew’s special sister-in-law Linda Lou Long, her son Terry Anderson and her grandson Karter Anderson, Pastor Rick Edwards of Country Road Fellowship and the men that helped him in and out of church every time he would go, and Beyond Faith Hospice for their amazing care for Stew.
