Reta Rundell Dollar

Reta Rundell Dollar, 83, was called home Thursday, October 8, 2015.  Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 10, 2015 at 11:00 a.m.  in Morrison Funeral Home Chapel.  Graveside services will be Monday, October 12, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the Oklahoma Lane, TX Cemetery.

Reta was the youngest of nine children born January 1, 1932 to Willie Isaac and Addie Southall Rundell in the farming community of Oklahoma Lane, Texas.  She attended the Oklahoma Lane School until it closed and finished school at Farwell High School along with the love of her life.  Billy Gene Dollar and Reta Winona Rundell were married on December 27, 1948.

Reta had a servant’s heart and served both her community and her family in every role she filled – working at the drive-in, in the school cafeteria and driving the school bus.  After Billy died in 1979, Reta was a night dispatcher for the Farwell law enforcement unit and a caregiver to many over the years.  Reta spent almost 20 years serving on the staff of Canyon Chapel Ministries near Norwood, Colorado and longed for the mountains and the friends she left there.  But she quickly found other roles of service at Faith Christian Family Church and her favorite event of the week - helping lead a time of worship at the Farwell Convalescent Center which she rarely missed until her move to Graham, TX in July, 2011.

Reta is survived by her children:  Bruce Dollar and wife Judy (Peters) of Alva, OK; Warlick (Buck) Dollar and wife Patsy (Odom) of Graham, TX;  Cecila (Polly) Miller of Rock Hill, SC; Natalie Dollar of Graham, TX and Dennis Dollar and wife Janet (Dahl) of Modesto, CA.  Also surviving is one brother Robert Rundell and wife Lois of Magnolia, TX, 5 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and a host of extended family and friends.

Family visitation will be held Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
