Robert Luther Rice, Sr
Robert Luther Rice, Sr., 89, passed away Wednesday, December 16, 2009 in Graham. A graveside service will be held on Friday, December 18, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in Graceland Cemetery in Jermyn. Arrangements are under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.
Robert was born on March 16, 1920 in Whitney to the late Luther and Dora (Maxwell) Rice. He married Ruth Awalt on December 5, 1945 in Itasca. She preceded him in death on May 3, 1993. Robert was a veteran of the United States Army Air Corps and he owned and operated B&B Testers.
Survivors include: son, Robert "Bobby" Rice, Jr. of Graham; step-daughter, Harriett Brown of Houston; sister, Corelia Muller of Cleburne; caretaker, Suzie McElhoe of Graham; four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, William Rufus Rice.
