Rosa Gonzales

Rosa Alvarez Gonzales, 78, passed away Sunday, November 10, 2013 in Graham. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. in Morrison Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

Rosa was born, December 8, 1934 in Gonzales, Texas to the late Rosalio and Luisa Vera Alvarez. She married Benito Muños Gonzalez September 16, 1951 in Tahoka, Texas. He preceded her in death July 19, 2012. She moved to Graham in 1971 from Graford. Rosa founded the Mission Bautista Mexicana Jerusalem in July 1976. She was a homemaker and member of Iglesia Bautista Jerusalem Church.

Survivors include: daughters, Lidia Kelley and husband, Rickie of Graham, Linda Chenault and husband, Jimmy of Graham, Janie Arellano and husband, Victor of Graham, Rosita Swift of Graham, Ruth Arellano, and husband, Johnny of Graham, and Lisa Gonzales of Graham; son, Benny Gonzales and wife, Michelle of Graham; 18 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren; two brothers, John and Teddy Alvarez both of Graham; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by grandson, Joseph Chenault, two brothers, Julio and Paul Alvarez.

Family visitation will be held Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 at Morrison Funeral Home.
