Roy Thomas

Roy L. Thomas, 70, of Graham, passed away Thursday, June 13, 2013 in Graham. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Graham. Burial will follow in Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

Roy was born August 19, 1942 to the late William A. and Jewell I. (Grubbs) Thomas. He married Nancy Smith of Newcastle December 19, 1970 in Graham. He was a longtime resident of Young County and was a member at First Baptist Church in Graham.

He was retired from the Graham ISD after 29 years of service. He worked in maintenance, school bus driver and drove the buses for many years. He also worked at Steer Bowl as a mechanic.

He was an avid bowler and bowled in several leagues for many years. He enjoyed watching the Texas Rangers, Graham Steers, and listening to 50's music as well as listening to Elvis.

Survivors include: wife, Nancy Thomas of 42 years of Graham; son, Brian Thomas of Graham; sister, Janie Yarbrough of Fort Worth; numerous nieces and nephews; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Emmett and Lynda Glidewell of Perrin; also a very special friend, Reddy.

Family visitation will be held Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
