Rozella Grey Parkinson Pratt, 94, of Graham, passed away Monday, August 4, 2014 in Graham. Funeral services will be held Sunday, August 10, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in Morrison Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Eliasville Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.
Rozella was a member of the church of Christ. She was born July 21, 1920 in Grenville, New Mexico to the late James Bern and Ann (Alford) Parkinson. She married Preston Persley Pratt on November 17, 1940 in Lubbock, Texas and she was preceded in death by Mr. Pratt on February 23, 2010, her husband of 69 years. As the oldest child in her family, Mrs. Pratt was preceded in death by her younger brothers, Bern, John and Bob Parkinson. Her most important role in life was being a homemaker. Thirty seven years ago, after her children were grown-up, she embarked on a 28 year business career. She owned Youngtown, a children's store, and retired in 2002 as the original owner of Pratt's Books in Graham. Her favorite hobby was her ornamental garden in her backyard. Her garden and her poems were typical of her creative spirit.
Survivors are her daughter, Mary Ann Pratt Baggett and husband, Roy of Blue Ridge, Texas; sons, Preston P. Pratt, Jr. and wife, Gayle of Pottsboro, Texas and David L. Pratt and wife, Gayle of Santa Maria, California; four grandchildren, Jim Littlepage of San Antonio, Preston "Tracer" Pratt III, and wife, Tracie of Soddy Daisy, TN, Julie Littlepage McKenney of McKinney and Randy Pratt of Abilene; six great grandchildren, Talon Beau Pratt of Abilene, Jacob, Lauren Grey, and Jackson Pratt of Soddy Daisy, TN and Jadon and Jordan McKenney of McKinney.
