Samuel Lee Tiner, 78, passed away Saturday, October 24, 2015 in Graham.  Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in Elliott Street Church of Christ in Breckenridge.  Burial will follow at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday in City of Lubbock Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

 

Sam was born March 29, 1937 in Lubbock to the late Louis Jackson and Thelma Bessie (Houston) Tiner.  He married Bernadene Pierce August 3, 1957 in Cotton Center.  Sam graduated from Hale Center High School and attended Texas Tech and North Texas State.  He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and retired from Loctite Corp as a salesman.  Sam was active in church as a Deacon and Elder, former Coppell City Councilman, Mayor Pro-tem of Coppell, and Police Commissoner of Coppell.  He attended Hillside Church of Christ in Graham.

 

Survivors include: wife, Bernadene Tiner of Graham; daughter, Julie Erb of Graham; son, Jamie Tiner of Chicago, Illinois; sister, Rebecca Ramirez of Floresville; brother, Mike Tiner and wife, Mary Jane of Lubbock; grandchildren, Samantha Erb White and husband, Ben and Brian Erb; great grandchild, Jack White.

 

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Danielle Lee Tiner and sister, Dianne Owens.

 

Family visitation will be held Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
