Sandra Lynn Townsend

Sandra Lynn Wright Townsend went home to be with our Lord in heaven on Thursday April 16, 2015 at 10:11am at the tender age of 67 after a long, hard battle with cancer and other illness. Visitation will be held on Sunday April 19, 2015 from 6-8pm at Morrison Funeral Home in Graham, TX. Graveside service will be held on Monday April 20, 2015 at 10am at Pioneer Cemetery  in Graham.  Arrangements are under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

"Sandy" as she was known, was the youngest of 7 children born of the late Juel James Wright and Virgi Virginia Hawkins Wright on Sept. 27, 1947 in Graham, TX. She lived the majority of her life in Greenville, TX where she was a well-loved hairstylist for more than 30 years.  She was a bright and shining star with a huge personality. She was the life of the party; a jokester; a quick wit; a card; a comedian; always cracking a joke, trying to make someone laugh! By the end of the party we would be left with our sides splitting, tears rolling down our faces and cheeks hurting from smiling and laughing so much.  Sandy was an extraordinary talent. She could do anything she put her mind to. Everything she touched turned to gold. She also had a huge heart of gold as well. She was a giving, loving daughter; sister; cousin; aunt; wife; mother and friend. She was an excellent cook, an extremely talented artist; decorator and craftswoman. She was even a roofer and construction worker! She loved to remodel, rearrange, create and transform. She could turn any old discarded item into a beautiful, useful piece of art. There was nothing she couldn't do.

Sandy is survived  by her husband of 23 years,  Ric Townsend of Greenville, TX. whom loved and cared for her even after a debilitating brain aneurysm over a decade ago, beloved sister Betty and brother-in-law Harvey Clinton of Graham, TX., whom raised Sandy as their very own. Still here, are her sons Michael Ludford of Flint, TX; Nathan Townsend of Galesburg, Illinois, and Brad Ludford of Golden, Colorado. She has two daughters, Stacey Jeter of Tyler, TX and Starr Threat of FT Worth, TX. She also has grandchildren, great grandchildren, and a multitude of cousins, nieces and nephews.

She touched the hearts of many and made lasting impressions because of her warm spirit and fun-loving ways. She will be dearly missed!!!
