Sarge Droz

Rodriguez "Sarge" Droz, 86, passed away Monday, March 26, 2012 in Graham. Funeral services will be held on Saturday March 31, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the First Baptist Church. Burial will follow in McAdams Cemetery at Possum Kingdom Lake under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

Sarge was born on August 31, 1925 in Guayama, Puerto Rico to Everilde and Anna (Rodriguez) Droz. He married Eugenia Ann Brooks on December 22, 1956 in Ardmore, Oklahoma. She preceded him in death on October 18, 1991. Sarge was a veteran of the United States Army and worked for Shamburger-Graham Building Center for many years. He was a member of the VFW and the First Baptist Church in Graham.

Survivors include: daughters, Julia Moore of Graham, Joyce Parent of Graham, Eugenia Stewart and husband, James of Graham and Laura Droz of Arlington; sons, Ray Droz and wife, Barbara of Graham and Bert Droz and wife, Elvira of Graham; brothers, Peter Droz and wife, Nevia of Puerto Rico and Everilde Droz, Jr of Puerto Rico; sisters, Elsie Droz de Navarro and Annie Droz de Nieves both of Puerto Rico; grandchildren, Roger Parent of San Antonio, Rachel Shifflett of Graham, Sarah Stewart of Graham, Rand Ramsey, Ryan Ramsey, and Rachael Ramsey all of Graham, and Cristal Sanchez of Graham; great grandchildren, Tyler, Wil, and Kayla Shifflett all of Graham.

He was preceded in death by brother, Fellipe Droz and sister, Raquel Droz.

Memorials may be made to Wounded Warriors, Diabetes Association, or Alzheimer's Association.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
