Spencer Swope

Spencer Lon Swope, a beloved brother, uncle, cousin, and friend passed away on October 27, 2024, from complications of cancer.

Born on April 5, 1952, in Killeen, Texas, Spencer was the cherished son of the late Jack Lon Swope and the late Marjorie Street Swope Cummings. He was named in honor of his two grandfathers, Spencer Boyd Street, Sr. (of Graham, Texas) and James Lon Swope (of Killeen, Texas).

Spencer graduated from Graham High School in 1970. He went on to study business at The University of Texas in Austin. He was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity as his father had been.

Spencer loved Austin and would remain there for the rest of his life. He also loved restoring vintage cars, hunting, fishing, sports, and music. He will be remembered for always having a kind heart and being a good friend to all who knew him.

Spencer is survived by his sister, Amanda Swope Dandridge and husband, Larry; niece, Marjorie Dandridge Ballew and husband, Aubrey; great niece and great nephew, Bellamy Claire and Jamie Graham Ballew; aunt, Carole Street, and many wonderful cousins.

Private graveside services were held February 1, 2025, at Pioneer Cemetery.
