Stella Mae Cook Mahaney

Stella Mae Cook Mahaney "Meme", 96, departed this earth Sunday, January 17, 2016 for her forever home in Heaven. Stella was born September 18, 1919 in Bryson to the late Albert Chamberlin and Myrl (Hill) Cook. She married Truman William "T.W." January 1, 1943 in Gainesville and he preceded her in death August 29, 2002. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in Morrison Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Gooseneck Cemetery in Young County under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

Stella is now united with her family and friends that have gone before her. She will be missed greatly by those who love her. Stella loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, always doting on them. She was a strong Christian woman and a life long member of First Baptist Church, where she enjoyed numerous church trips she took through the years organized by Pastor Edgar Jones. Stella's door was always open and a good meal ready for anyone that was hungry, her kindness will never be forgotten. Stella retired from Graham General Hospital after being a ward clerk for many years, where she made life long friends.

Stella is survived by her son, Floyd Mahaney of Graham; grandchildren, Jack Mahaney and wife Lauren of Graham and Shelley Bailey and husband Blake of Weatherford; daughter-in-law, Sheryl Mahaney of Graham; great grandchildren, Tripp and Reno Mahaney , and Gracen and Georgia Bailey; several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents and sibilings; Lee Cook, Doc Cook, Troy Cook, Lois Lindsay, Ched Cook, Charles Cook, Alta Shepard, Lonnie Cook and Jean Landry.
