Sue Jo Smith

Sue Jo Jones Smith, 80, passed away Monday, October 20, 2014 at her home in Graham after a long illness. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 23, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. in the First Baptist Church in Graham. Burial will follow in Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

Sue Jo was born November 29, 1933 in Collin County. She attended Spring Hill High School in Longview, completing high school at age 16. She also attended Kilgore College in Kilgore.

She moved to Andrews and went to work for Humble Oil in the early 1950s. Sue Jo married Lester Smith in Andrews on September 1, 1965. She was employed as a secretary for geologists for Exxon in Andrews until she retired in 1986. She lived in Andrews until they moved to Graham in 1993.

Survivors include: husband, Lester Smith of Graham; son, Michael Kent Lindsey of Longview, Texas; one grandson and three great-grandchildren.

Sue Jo was preceded in death by her parents Geraldine Phillips Jones and Lanceford (Dick) Jones.
