Sue Waggoner, 65, passed away Monday, September 18, 2023 at her home in Graham. Funeral is scheduled 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 21, 2023 at First United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Pioneer Cemetery.
Sue was born August 15, 1958 in San Saba to the late Amanda Louise (Byrd) Long and Robert Lee Long. She received a Bachelor of Education Degree from Angelo State University. Sue was employed by Graham Independent School District as a sixth-grade math teacher.
Sue was known for many things. She was a beloved wife, mother, nana, daughter, sister, teacher, and friend. She never met a stranger and had a knack for making anyone feel welcome, known and celebrated within moments. She learned to work hard from the very beginning of her life from her parents and siblings on the ranch and would jump in to help anytime it was needed. She loved sharing her passion for ranch life with her children, grandchildren, and friends. She could work alongside the best of them, but was also always the first to agree to a girls’ night, a round of bunco, a trip with her husband or a chance to snuggle a grand baby. She was her happiest when all her people were together and went to great lengths to create opportunity for this any chance she got. She loved to provide comfort and tradition through her puppy chow, brownies, homemade ice cream, peach cobbler, spaghetti and did it all to order if she knew your preferences. To know Sue was to be wrapped in love in all ways at all times. She will be greatly missed by so many but her legacy of love will continue to move through us all as we continue to cherish the memories, we were blessed to make with her.
Survivors include; husband, Bryan Waggoner of Graham; son, Scott Waggoner of Lingleville, Mark Waggoner and wife Jessica of Graham and their daughter Leah Gail, Nolan Waggoner and wife Amy of Wichita Falls and their children Coleman Jett, Turner Drew, and Kate Ryan Waggoner; sisters, Frances Wiggins and husband Mark of Garden Ridge and Peggy Hammond and husband Bruce of Goldthwaite; mother-in-law, Betty Waggoner of Graham; several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Robin Marie Waggoner, father-in-law, Cliff Waggoner, grandson, Jase Waggoner, and brother Bob Long.
Family Visitation will be Wednesday, September 20, 2023 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home.
