Ted Dalton

Theron (Ted) Lynn Dalton, passed away peacefully on May 19th, 2020, after a long, hard fought, winning battle against cancer. A small family burial will occur on Friday morning, under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home, to be followed, at 11:00 AM, by a come and go celebration of life in the Barclay Room at Young County Arena.

Born on August 29th, 1962, to parents Eddie Theron Dalton and Barbara Kay Pockrus, in Sweetwater, Texas, Ted was a man who loved his family, his work, riding his motorcycle, and listening to Merle Haggard and Willie Nelson. Ted’s favorite past times were having friends and family over to enjoy his backyard and pool, and watching his Texas Longhorns and Texas Rangers.

Ted proudly worked in the food industry for over 30 years, in jobs ranging from butcher to Ben E. Keith sales representative. His clients and customers were always treated as a relationship, not an account, and are amongst those closest to him that will miss him dearly.

Ted’s marriage to Cathy Boydston produced the two great prides of Ted’s life, his children Tucker and Allie. They were with him every step of the way through his battle with cancer.

Ted is preceded in death by his father, Theron, step-father Jerry Pockrus, as well as his grandparents. He is survived by his mother Barbara, of Fate, TX ; brother Brian Dalton and family of Terrell, TX; Brother Mike Dalton of Rowlett, TX ; Sister Amanda Parmelly and family of Rockwall, TX; son Tucker of Graham, TX; and Daughter and son in law Allie and David Proctor, of Graham, TX, and his newest best bud, his grandson Tripp, who made him a PawPaw; as well as many extended family members and friends who were like family, as well as his beloved bulldogs, Church and Abby.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation in Ted’s honor to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital @ 501 St. Jude Place. Memphis, TN 38105 or www.stjude.org, a cause Ted supported faithfully for years.
